Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine is recruiting for a Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Specialist. This individual will be responsible for implementing and maintaining human resource information management systems for the organization. They will be in charge of providing advisory services and guidance to management regarding system requirements based on company resources and needs. One of their main responsibilities includes giving technical guidance and direction to administrative, technical, and clerical staff on the operation and maintenance of the human resources data systems. Additionally, the HRIS specialist will provide on:the:job and formal training to human resource data system users using custom software and company applications. The ideal candidate will be well:versed in a variety of computer system environments and be able to troubleshoot technical issues. Their main responsibilities also include developing and implementing strategies to address problem areas at the unit and human resource facilities.Provides administration of the HRIS and various other data systems that HR is responsible for including eLearning, DNA Fusion/Badging, Survey Monkey, and RAVE Alert System.Creates and provides regular and ad hoc reports as requested.Conducts audits and maintains integrity of data systems and document files.Establishes and maintains up to date processes and reporting documentation.Acts as liaison with third party vendors as needed.Participates in planning and testing of HRIS updates.Assists with ongoing training and support of new and existing users on the HRIS.Responsible for assisting in the orientation and training of new employees, contractors, students and volunteers on various HR data systems.Recommends process improvement.Assist with special projects.Availability to work occasional overtime on weekends or evenings to complete time sensitive projects.Acquires knowledge for new technology and policy/procedure revisionsBachelorA?s degree preferred with strong aptitude and interest in Information Technology.Minimum three yearsA? experience working with systems; HRIS preferred.Demonstrated proficiency working with databases.Ability to perform duties independently, with a minimal need for direct supervision.
